My feeling is that it's a firm but reasonable letter, stating the case clearly and calmly. No-one can accuse it of being a "rant" but neither is it at all ambiguous. It is to be read out in all parishes of Westminster diocese this weekend; Lawrence England on his blog tells us that it is being circulated amongst parishes in the other dioceses of England & Wales too. I certainly hope we will hear about it in ours.
